Giving Tuesday

From day one here at Chubbies we’ve been devoted to the Friday at 5pm feeling. That moment when one balances out their week and takes time and space for themselves. Fundamentally, our mission has been one of placing emphasis on the “life” part of work-life balance.

As we’ve grown over these past 8 years as a business and as individuals, we’ve realized that we can do more. We realized that there are serious issues related to this “balance” we had devoted ourselves to. We realized that there are greater forces affecting the balance we sought, and that we had a responsibility to help.

Giving Tuesday is a global campaign based on a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. It’s a day to give back in any way you can.

We, you, our partners - everyone can help alleviate these issues. And because we can, we are. We’ve partnered with the following organizations who are, in a variety of incredible and ambitious ways, supporting and promoting mental and emotional health. Through Wednesday evening, we will be donating $5 on all orders under $100, and $10 for all orders over $100.

Headstrong, founded in 2012, provides confidential, cost-free, and frictionless mental health care treatment for military veterans and their families that works. In partnership with Weill Cornell Medicine, one of the nation's leading mental health care centers, Headstrong developed an effective, individually tailored and comprehensive treatment program for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and related military trauma. https://getheadstrong.org/

In September 2013, Travis and his wife Kelsey founded the Travis Mills Foundation, a nonprofit organization, formed to benefit and assist post 9/11 veterans who have been injured in active duty or as a result of their service to our nation. The veteran and their families receive an all-inclusive, all-expenses paid, barrier-free vacation to Maine where they participate in adaptive activities, bond with other veteran families, and enjoy much-needed rest and relaxation in Maine’s great outdoors.https://travismillsfoundation.org/

Street Soccer USA is a national nonprofit that aims to fight poverty and strengthen communities through soccer. Founded in 2009, Street Soccer USA connects soccer skills to life skills, providing best-in-class, fun, and free soccer programming while helping participants cultivate positive relationships and find the resources needed to succeed. Through community soccer clubs, a sports for development curriculum, and academic and social services support, Street Soccer USA helps players and families discover their strengths, achieve their goals, and improve their future. Founded in 1998 by the creators of the Academy Award®-winning short film TREVOR, The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning (LGBTQ) young people under 25.
